Today I got a Principal's Award at Assembly because I have worked hard this term.

Hedgehog Fun

Today we read a book called 'Hedgehog Fun'. It showed us how to make hedgehogs out of fruit. After we had read the book we made the prickles. It was fun and they tasted yummy.

I Am Learning to Retell a Story

We read a story called the 'Roller Coaster Ride' today. Then we had to put the pictures into the right order to retell the story.

"I could put the pictures in the right order. First you have to read the story or you don't know what happens".

Kapa Haka

Today the junior Kapa Haka group performed the story of Hatupatu and the Bird Woman. I was a forest bird. I made my mask. It was such fun.

Blog Bugs

We used paint to paint three blobs, then we squashed our paper in half. When it was dry we added legs, wings, antennae and eyes.

I Can Add More detail to My Writing

We are learning to add more detail to our writing. We write when it happened.

" I wrote 'today' in my story because that's when it happened".

I Am Learning to Tell The Time

We have made clocks at school. We are learning to tell o'clock and half past times using our clocks. It is fun.

"My clock says 3 o'clock. It is easy to tell o'clocks, next I will learn half past times".

The Principal's Morning Tea

On Friday I had morning tea with Mrs Plowright. I took my Story book to show her. I also took my butterfly which was a story I had published on the computer.

Art Exhibition - Paint My World

We used primary colours to paint our paper. We mixed the colours to get the new colours. We then drew our koru patterns and cut them out. We  arranged them on black paper to make the colours show out.  Come and see our Art Work this week 25^th  – 27^th August, the exhibition is open from 8:30am until 5:30pm.

I Am Learning to Make Words that Rhyme With Nest.

Today we read the story ‘Zolar and Zina Love to Read’ on Sunshine Online. After we had read the story we had to make words that rhymed with 'est'.

" I had to make est words in the maze. It was fun. I liked reading this story. I like the Sunshine Online stories."

I Am Learning About Describing Words

We have been learning to make our stories more interesting by using describing words. We wrote a sentence using describing words and then we used Kidpix to publish it.

"I have lots of describing words. Gorgeous, little, beautiful, spotty, pink and coloured are my describing words. It was tricky to do the spots. I will try to remember to use describing words in my stories now."
